Build Data 360 Retrievers with Custom SQL Queries

Define, test, and create retrievers with SQL queries directly in the retriever user interface (UI) without switching between the Query Editor, Apex, and Prompt Builder. Use parameterized queries to build reusable retrievers and query other Data 360 objects such as data model objects (DMO), data lake objects (DLO), and Calculated Insights in the retriever UI.

Where: This change applies to Data 360 in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

When: This feature is available starting in October 2026.

Why: Agent developers get a dedicated experience to programmatically build and test retrievers before deploying them in agents, cutting out tool-switching and letting you validate query logic earlier in development.

How: To build a custom SQL retriever, go to the AI Models tab in Data 360, select Retrieve, and then New Retriever. Select Custom SQL Retriever as the type and then define your query and parameters.
