# Split Flow Paths by Date or Field Value Without Expressions

Use the Split by Date and Split by Field Value decision types to route individuals based on common conditions without building expressions. Choose a field to determine the split, define your paths, and configure values by using simple inline pickers.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

**Why:** Marketers frequently want to route paths based on a simple value like the date, but the standard Decision element required manually writing expressions or formulas. These split types reduce the steps and expertise required.

**How:** From Flow Builder, add a Decision element to your flow. Select **Split by Field Value** to route based on a field value, or select **Split by Date** to route based on the current date. Define your paths and configure values with the inline picker.
