# Archive App

Manage growing data volumes and improve system performance by autoarchiving old or inactive data. Keep only important and reliable information in production.

- **[Check Your Encryption Key Status in Archive Settings](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_archive_encryption_key_status.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Archive Settings shows the status of the Shield Platform Encryption key that protects your archived data. The status can be Active, Encrypting, Decrypting, or Key Inactive. Monitor it so you can restore access quickly if the key becomes inactive.
- **[Archive the Latest Supported Objects and Fields](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_archive_latest_objects_fields.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
When you create an archive policy, you can now select the latest objects and fields your org supports. Archive automatically keeps up with your org's API version, so newly supported objects and fields are available to select after your org moves to a newer version. Previously, Archive used a fixed API version, so they didn't appear in the policy creation workflow until an Archive update raised the version.
