# Plan Workforce Coverage with Shift Management

Create and manage shifts for workers who handle onsite appointments, field work, or both. Use shift templates and recurring patterns, account for holidays and extended shifts, and give workers a desktop view of their assigned shifts.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise and Unlimited editions where Agentforce Public Sector is enabled. An add-on license for Workforce Scheduling is also required.

**How:** To access Workforce Scheduling, in Setup, assign the Workforce Management Schedule Manager permission set to managers. From the App Launcher, managers open **Schedule Manager**, and select the **Shifts** tab to create shifts.

For worker access, in Setup, assign the Workforce Management Worker permission set to users, and create an associated Service Resource record for each User profile. From the App Launcher, workers open **Schedule** to view their shifts.
