# Control Outbound Number Availability and Protect Privacy with Number Masking

While procuring a number, Salesforce automatically marks numbers that support both inbound and outbound calling as available for outbound use, so admins can select them for Caller Line Identification (CLI) and outbound flows without manual setup. Turn on number masking to hide a number during outbound calls, protecting rep and customer privacy for compliance-sensitive scenarios.

**Where:** This change is available in Salesforce orgs with this [telephony model](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.voice_telephony_models.htm&language=en_US).

- Salesforce Voice (Native Telephony)

**How:** On the Number Details page, turn off outbound eligibility for a number if you don't want it available for CLI or outbound flows, or turn on Enable Masking to mask the number during outbound calls. If you turn off outbound eligibility on a number that's actively in use, you see a warning before the change takes effect.
