# Keep Approval Workflows Moving with Advanced Approval Delegation

Prevent approval delays during planned absences by using Advanced Approval Delegation. Reviewers can assign their responsibilities to a user, group, or queue for a defined period or indefinitely by creating approval delegation records. When you turn on Advanced Approval Delegation, delegations configured on reviewer user records no longer apply. Reviewers must create approval delegation records to set up their delegations.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions where Advanced Approvals is enabled.
