# Format Tableau Next Visualizations and Dashboards with Greater Control

Customize the appearance of Tableau Next visualizations and dashboards with the expanded Style pane. Apply formatting to text, lines, backgrounds, and marks for a consistent appearance. Customize individual elements such as axes, field labels, headers, and legends to improve readability. Visualizations preserve their formatting when added to dashboards, where you can override formatting to suit your preferences.

**Where:** This change applies to Tableau Next in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions.

**How:** From a visualization or dashboard, open the **Style** pane. Apply formatting to multiple elements or customize individual elements as needed.
