The Tableau Next MCP Beta Server gives you early access to new tools for creating and editing dashboards, semantic models, visualizations, and alerts, using Claude, ChatGPT, Slackbot, or any other MCP-compatible client. Test and plan for upcoming capabilities while you continue using the generally available Tableau Next MCP Server for production work. Both servers can run at the same time in your org.
Note This feature is a pilot or beta service that is subject to the Beta Services Terms at
Agreements - Salesforce.com
or a written Unified Pilot Agreement if executed by Customer, and applicable terms in the
Product Terms Directory.
Use of this pilot or beta service is at the Customer's sole discretion.
When: This functionality is available starting in mid-August 2026.

Why: The beta server gives you early access to:
- Dashboards and visualizations: Create complete multipage dashboards and individual visual widgets from a natural language description, without opening the Tableau Next editor.
- Semantic models: Manage the full lifecycle of your semantic models, including data objects, relationships, business metrics, and calculated fields, directly from your AI agent.
- AI optimization: Improve agent accuracy by testing models with regression evaluators, auto-generating metadata descriptions, and classifying interaction logs.
- Data alerts: Monitor key metrics automatically with custom alerts, and get visualization answers to natural language questions.
- Asset discovery: Find the right semantic model faster with improved semantic model search that asks for clarification when results are ambiguous.
- Self-service data setup: Create workspaces and data objects (DLOs and DMOs) from file uploads or data connections, including Snowflake.
How: Enable the beta server using the same setup process as the generally available server. Select Tableau Next Beta Server from the servers list.
