  • Plan Your Next Steps with Metric Forecasting in Tableau Next
You can see a metric’s predicted performance and plan accordingly with forecasting for metrics in Tableau Next. For example, a metric’s forecast shows that sales for a specific category are going to exceed your current inventory level. And because the metric’s forecast is grounded in historical data, you can be confident in planning your next steps. Forecasting can be used with or without goals or thresholds.
  • Compare Different Periods in Tableau Next Metrics
You now have more control over the period used to calculate a metric’s change over time. When you create a metric, set a primary comparison and an optional secondary comparison period. For example, your primary comparison measures month-over-month change. And your secondary comparison measures year-over-year change. When primary and secondary comparisons are set, they appear on both the card and on the metric’s detail page.
