# New Features for Data in Tableau Next

Explore large data lake objects (DLOs) and data model objects (DMOs) directly from your Tableau Next workspaces. Perform data transformations using the in-app builder in Tableau Next, bringing an intelligent, self-service data prep flow directly to your analytics workflow.

- **[Analyze Data Assets in Tableau Next](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_tua_data_lens_explore.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Explore large data lake objects (DLOs), data model objects (DMOs), and external tables in data connections directly from your Tableau Next workspaces. Now, you can also profile external tables in a live data connection before creating a data lake object, so you can review the data and bring in the right table. Summarize, filter, sort, and drill down into data right in your flow of work. You can easily streamline your view to discover key metrics, identify data relationships, and analyze distributions.
- **[Monitor Data Assets in Tableau Next (Generally Available)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_tua_data_monitor.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
From the Tableau Next Data Monitor, review and track your data lake objects (DLOs), data connections, and data transforms referenced in your workspaces. View detailed information about your data assets, such as status, source workspace, refresh history, and available actions. You can also open each asset directly from the monitor. This feature, now generally available, includes some changes since the last release.
- **[Clean and Transform Data for Analysis Directly in Tableau Next (Generally Available)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_tua_data_transform_builder_ga.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Perform data transformations by using the in-app builder in Tableau Next, and you bring an intelligent, self-service data prep flow directly to your analytics workflow. You can add more data, manipulate it by using append, aggregate, filter, transform, and join nodes, and then write the results to a target data object. This feature, now generally available, includes improvements such as column selection when you add data objects.
