# Extract Data from External Contracts with Flexible Single Extraction Pipelines

Extract contract fields and clauses from external documents and import them into Salesforce as structured data. Run single extraction without an AWS Textract license by using Document AI or Multimodal APIs for smaller files, and Intelligent Extraction for large documents. Configure and test clause extraction with prompt templates, and select the model that fits your use case. Store prompts in context attributes to persist configurations across mapping changes, and review results with the improved template preview experience.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions of Agentforce Revenue Management, formerly Revenue Cloud, with the Revenue Cloud Advanced or Salesforce Contracts license.

**Who:** To set up contract extraction, you need the CLM Admin User, DocGen Designer, Contracts AI User, and Prompt Template Manager permission set licenses. To use contract extraction, users need CLM Runtime User, Contracts AI User, DocGen User, and Prompt Template User permission set licenses.

**How:** Configure an extraction template, and then select the extraction method based on your setup. Depending on your configuration, you can:

- Turn on Document Extraction by using the Document AI setting to make Document AI the preferred method.
- Turn on Clause Generation and use the default prompt, or define custom prompts for specialized scenarios, to control clause generation.
- Use the enhanced preview experience to validate extracted values.
- Manage prompt templates in Prompt Builder and associate them with context attributes to support clause extraction and generation.
