- Manage Field-Level Encryption with an Upgraded UI
You can now set up and maintain your Field-Level Encryption (FLE) policy directly from the Shield app. The new UI makes it easier to review encryption blockers, enable or disable encryption for fields, and update encryption schemes. The legacy UIs for managing FLE are still available in Setup and in the Shield Extension managed package. - Prepare for a Consolidated Field-Level Encryption Experience in Winter ’27
Salesforce plans to retire the legacy Field-Level Encryption (FLE) experience from Setup in Winter ’27. When this change occurs, users are redirected to the new FLE experience in the Shield app, which is available starting in Summer ’26. Your existing FLE policy and all related functionality are preserved while we roll out these UI enhancements. - Increased Record Limit for Encryption Sync
You can now run self-service background encryption on objects containing up to 40 million records. The larger limit threshold means that you can expect fewer delays when syncing data to your active key. - Encrypt Backup & Recover Next Data
Backup data presents the same compliance and security risks as live data. Protect your data backups with Shield Platform Encryption for Backup & Recover Next. Encrypt backups with tenant-specific root keys that you control. These root keys secure and control the data encryption keys used to encrypt backups at rest. You can generate a root key in Setup, use Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) to upload a key, and rotate root keys. - Field Limits for Analysis and Email Notification of Analyzer Results
A 100-field limitation ensures your analysis jobs will complete successfully. We also send you an email when your analysis completes. - Know How Fields for Analysis Are Divided Among Objects
