# Usability Improvements for MFA Registration Pages

To improve the multi-factor authentication (MFA) user experience, we updated the pages where users select a verification method. The updated pages use clearer terminology that is less technical and more user-friendly. They also highlight passkeys as a recommended method, which guides users toward faster, easier, and more secure MFA. These changes improve the user experience for enforcement of the multi-factor authentication (MFA) requirement for employee users.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in all editions.

**When:** This change is available starting in July 2026.

**How:** The MFA user experience depends on your org settings. If you've [customized MFA registration to show all permitted verification methods](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.security_optimize_verification_method_registration.htm&language=en_US), users see this page after they enter their username and password.

![Choose a Verification Method page](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-release-notes-salesforce_release_notes-262-0-0-production-enus/e945111b-3e0a-4011-accc-d5949363bfcc/salesforce_release_notes/images/security_choose_verification_method.png)

Otherwise, MFA registration starts with the strongest permitted method, such as a passkey. In that case, the user sees this page if they opt to register a different verification method.

When logging in with MFA, users see a similar page to choose from among their already-registered verification methods.

Note These pages display verification methods only if you've [made them available to your users](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.mfa_config_available_verifiers.htm&language=en_US).
