# View and Export Sensitive Data Excerpts in Data Detect Scan Results

Quickly identify the types of sensitive data within your records by viewing an ‘excerpt’ of ‘found value’ snippets right in your scan results. Enjoy easier data review with important security controls.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Performance</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, and <strong>Developer</strong> editions with the Salesforce Shield or Data Detect Licenses.</td></tr></tbody></table>

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience (not available in all orgs) in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions with the Salesforce Shield or Data Detect Licenses.

**Who:** To view or export sensitive data excerpts, assign the 'Manage user access to view detected sensitive data in the results of the Data Detect scan' permission only to specific users. These users can be Data Security Administrators or Internal Auditors, all who require it for a defined task. This permission is disabled by default.

**How:**Follow security best practices when using this feature:

- Grant the required permission only to specific users, such as Data Security Administrators or Internal Auditors, who require it for a defined task.
- Only enable the user permission for the duration of the specific audit or verification task, and immediately revoke it afterward to minimize the window of data exposure.
