# Cancel Backups in Progress

Stop a backup while it’s running to address production data errors or modify backup options.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience.

**Who:** To use this feature, users need the Cancel Backup permission.

**How:** From the Backup and Recover Next app, click the Backups tab. In the row for the running backup, select Cancel Backup from the action menu.
