# Manage Backup and Recover Next with REST APIs

Integrate Backup and Recover Next into your processes by using REST API endpoints. Run, cancel, and configure backups, view compare and restore activities, compare backup data, and retrieve audit event logs directly from custom apps.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience.

**How:** Assign the permissions associated with the API actions. Create an external client app, enable OAuth and allow it to issue a JSON Web Token (JWT). Pass this JWT as a Bearer token in the Authorization header of the request.
