# New and Changed Connect REST APIs in Product Discovery

Make sure that every transaction is accurate by running configuration rules that identify issues and provide rule messages in the API response. This immediate feedback helps you understand constraints during the discovery phase and avoid issues during the transaction processing. You can also use rule-based recommendations to guide buyers toward the appropriate products for their specific needs.

## New Connect REST API Resources

Define constraint rules to disable products and display rule messages

Make a POST request to the `/revenue/product-configurator/rules/actions/execute` resource.

New request body: Configuration Rule Input

New response body: Configuration Rule Response

Discover and add recommended products based on your underlying business rules

Make a POST request to the `/revenue/product-discovery/products/recommendations` resource.

New request body: Product Recommendation Input

New response body: Product Recommendations

## Changed Connect REST API Request Bodies

Trigger configuration rules automatically during product search, guided selections, or listing of products. Identify rule violations before a product is even added to a quote.

Product List Input, Guided Selection Input, and Products Search Input

These request bodies have these new properties.

- `executeConfigurationRules`—Indicates whether to run configuration rules.
- `transactionContextId`—ID of the transaction context to run the configuration rules for.
- `transactionId`—ID of the transaction to run the configuration rules for.
