# Product Configurator

Define constraints for quote groups or ramp segments to ensure accurate product combinations. Include product defaults such as attributes, attribute values, and fields when you import products from Product Catalog Management. Group Product Configurator messages together by a specific value, such as grouping constraint violations across a set of related line items.

- **[Define Constraints for Quote Groups and Ramp Segments](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_product_configurator_rules_for_quote_groups_and_ramp_segments.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
In Constraint Rules Engine, define constraints that apply to products in a group to get more precise control over complex quotes. Define constraints for a specific segment in a ramp deal for accurate product combinations, validation, and pricing within a quote group or a ramp segment.
- **[Load Product Defaults into Constraints](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_product_configurator_load_product_defaults.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
You can now dynamically include product defaults such as attributes, attribute values, custom fields, and standard fields that are defined in Product Catalog Management (PCM) when you import products from PCM to a constraint. Including defaults results in faster and more accurate quoting, better consistency across quotes, and an improved user experience for sales reps.
- **[Updates in Default Product Configurator Flow](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_product_configurator_flow_updates.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
The Default Product Configurator flow has new attributes. If you cloned the Default Product Configurator flow before Summer ’26, manually map the new attributes in your customized flow, or clone the default flow and apply your customizations again.
- **[Changed Connect REST API in Product Configurator](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_product_configurator_changed_connect_rest_api_response_body.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Group Product Configurator messages together by a specific value. For example, you can group constraint issues across a set of related line items.
- **[Improve Performance for Constraint Models with Many Mapped Products](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_product_configurator_skip_type_generation.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Use the skipTypeGeneration property to reduce the storage size and improve the performance of constraint models that map many products to a single type.
