Salesforce Point of Sale Version 12.0.1

The 12.0.1 release occurs between April 22 and 29, 2026.

The release is available to test April 22, 2026. ABM date: May 7, 2026. Hyperforce Production date: May 4, 2026.

Note
Note The ABM date was updated from 4/29 to 5/7 due to a postponement of the POS Version 12.0.1 GA deployment. The delay was made to avoid pushing updates during high-volume regional trading windows (including Japan's Golden Week holiday period). We appreciate your patience.

Your testing team may find the available version 12.0.1 (27630) available to test in their TestFlight application.

  • Increase Warranty Revenue and Reduce Friction at the Point of Sale
Give your store associates the flexibility to offer the right warranty coverage at the right moment without creating order management headaches. The POS system automatically calculates warranty options based on eligible cart subtotals. With the right approval policy, associates can adjust warranty coverage for specific products at the point of sale. Also, you can require warranty checks before completing checkout. This capability integrates with a new warranty retrieval SPI, enabling a straightforward way to connect your current warranty catalog to the POS experience.
  • Improve Checkout Flow with Reliable Card on File Payments
Keep your checkout lines moving by giving store associates instant access to customers' stored payment methods, including during multitender sales. When an associate selects a customer profile with a saved credit card, the POS retrieves the card information via tokens from the profile to facilitate secure transactions through your Adyen terminal. This updated framework mitigates previous scenarios that disabled card on file transactions. Guest checkout still requires a physical card. During the point of sale flow, confirm the shopper’s identity before payment.
  • Eliminate Checkout Disruptions for Nontaxable Scenarios with Vertex
Avoid tax calculation errors in cases where a region or item isn't subject to tax and no exemption rule is configured. Previously, transactions involving nontaxable regions or items without an exemption rule triggered calculation failures. These failures disrupted the checkout experience and required manual intervention or a support request to Vertex.
  • Streamline Remote Checkout with Real-Time Payment Sync
Free store associates from manual tracking to focus on customers. The POS system automatically updates order statuses and sends an e-receipt to the customer upon successful payment. Previously, associates spent time checking payment statuses and issuing receipts. Store managers can also monitor remote payment status in the POS app. Previously, expired payment links tied up inventory reservations and required manual intervention to resolve.
  • Ensure Accurate BOGO Pricing and Simplify Returns with Lowest-Price Discounting
Eliminate pricing inconsistencies at checkout and streamline returns and exchanges by applying Buy One, Get One (BOGO) discounts to the lowest-priced qualifying item in the cart. Previously, the POS applied discounts to the first qualifying item added, which caused pricing discrepancies during returns and exchanges, leading to customer friction and potential revenue loss. Now, the POS automatically calculates the discount based on the lowest-priced qualifying item, ensuring accurate pricing every time, reducing cashier errors, and delivering a seamless customer experience across purchases, returns, and exchanges.
  • Reduce Fulfillment Costs and Improve Customer Satisfaction by Canceling BOFIS Orders Up to the Moment of Shipment
Avoid unnecessary shipping costs and improve customer satisfaction by canceling Buy Online, Fulfill in Store (BOFIS) orders at any point before shipment, including after packing. Previously, the POS removed the cancel option once an order was packed or marked ready to ship, forcing store associates to complete and ship unwanted orders, increasing costs and complicating returns. Now, you can cancel right up to the moment of shipment, reducing wasted fulfillment effort, cutting unnecessary shipping expenses, and resolving last-minute customer cancellation requests quickly and efficiently.
  • Reduce Sales Loss Because of Gift Card Compatibility
Connect your Point of Sale app, formerly Retail Cloud Modern POS, to any gift card vendor by using the new Gift Card SPI. You can now integrate specialized providers to check balances, activate cards, and process redemptions directly in the POS. This SPI makes sure that your checkout process supports the specific gift card services your business requires.
  • Configure Tax Free Integrations Faster for All Stores
To save time, upload a CSV file to configure tax-free settings for Global Blue across all your locations. You can now manage shop IDs, API credentials, and desk IDs in bulk rather than editing each store individually. The system validates your data and maps the data to the correct store automatically.
  • Expand into New Markets with Fiscal SPIs
Expand your global footprint by connecting local fiscal engines to your retail workflow. Fiscalization SPIs connect your Point of Sale app, formerly Retail Cloud Modern POS, to systems that handle country-specific tax, and fiscal requirements, so you can complete checkout without interruption.
  • Reduce Compliance Risk with Granular Inventory Permissions
Restrict access to specific inventory modules by configuring permissions for transfers, adjustments, and cycle counts. This change replaces the single inventory permission with separate permission settings for each inventory module, giving you the flexibility to define access for different roles. By limiting access to specific modules, you prevent operational risks and maintain tighter control over your store data.
  • Improve Sales in Offline Mode with Accurate Product Images
Show product images on the POS app during offline transactions. Previously, offline mode showed only a default image instead of the product image, which made it harder to identify items. Now, you can find products faster and continue serving customers without interruption during offline transactions.
  • Empower Franchise Managers with Scoped Access Control and Independent POS Management
Eliminate unauthorized data exposure and reduce operational dependency on corporate admins by giving franchise managers direct control over their store's functions. You can create franchise-specific roles and users, link store associates directly to their franchise, and enforce granular CMS visibility. This feature ensures franchise users see only the data relevant to their locations, drives operational autonomy at the store level, reduces administrative overhead, and safeguards data integrity across your entire franchise network.
  • Prioritize Orders and Reduce Late Fulfillments
Get the visibility you need to handle pickup and shipping orders in the right order. The POS app now highlights time-sensitive orders in the fulfillment list. A green indicator shows that an order is on track, an orange indicator shows that it’s nearing the deadline, and a red indicator shows that the deadline has passed.
