Embedded MFE widgets support keyboard navigation and screen readers using standard browser controls. Users tab into and through widget content without additional host-side development.
Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience, Experience Builder sites, and Experience Cloud LWR sites in all editions.
Note The Dev Channel provides access to features that are not generally available and have been designated as pilot, beta, limited release, or developer preview. Their use is at the Customer's sole discretion and is subject to the Beta Services Terms at Agreements - Salesforce.com.
How: Set a descriptive title on the <lwc-shell> element: shell.title = 'Product Registration Form'.
The framework handles container-level accessibility automatically:
- The iframe element receives the
titleattribute, giving screen readers clear context at the iframe boundary. - Screen readers announce the iframe
titlewhen focus enters the first focusable field inside the iframe. - Focus flows progressively: navigate through widget content with standard keyboard controls (Tab, Shift+Tab, arrow keys).
Your widget content is your responsibility — follow standard web accessibility practices for interactive elements, ARIA labels, and internal focus management.
