# Provide Members More Time to Use Activity-Based Points

Provide members more flexibility by adding a grace period to their point expiration dates, or by exempting points from expiration. Define reinstatement windows so your customer service representatives can easily reinstate points that expired within a time frame. Define different grace periods and reinstatement windows based on currency type and tier.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions with Loyalty Management.

**How:** From the Loyalty Program Currency page of a redeemable currency that uses the activity-based expiration model, create Loyalty Program Currency Extension Period records. Clone and activate these Data Processing Engine definitions: the Identify and Update Activity Dates for Loyalty Program Members definition and the Expire with Grace Period Activity Based Non-Qualifying Points definition. Then, schedule the definitions to run periodically based on your business requirements. To reinstate expired points, run the Reinstate Points invocable action.
