# Control Tier Expiration with Custom Dates and Formulas

To reward achievements such as joining a partner program, you can now upgrade members to higher tiers for a specific duration. When using the Change Member Tier process template or the Change Tier invocable action, loyalty program managers and admins can manually set an expiration date or use a formula to calculate one dynamically.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions with Loyalty Management.

**How:** When configuring the Change Member Tier template or the Change Tier invocable action, use the Custom Tier Expiration Date field to enter a date or a formula.
