# Synchronize Inventory Counts with Asset Status Mapping

Keep your product item rollups perfectly synced with the real-world state of your hardware. When you map asset statuses to specific quantity categories, the system automatically updates fields such as Quantity Available or Quantity Damaged whenever an asset's state changes, preventing stock discrepancies.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions with Agentforce IT Service.

**Why:** Total physical inventory counts often hide the true operational state of your stock. You can map a single asset status to one or multiple quantity fields simultaneously. For example, marking an asset as Reserved can automatically update both Quantity on Hand and Quantity Allocated, providing the granular visibility needed for accurate sourcing.

**How:** From Setup, go to the **Asset Management Status Qualifier** page to define how asset statuses impact your inventory counts. Create mapping records that link statuses to specific product item quantity fields. Additionally, ensure you map your service request codes to the appropriate service request statuses during initial setup.
