# Author and Sync Policy Clauses Directly in Microsoft Word

Draft and edit your IT policies in a familiar environment by using the Salesforce add-in for Microsoft Word. Generate high-quality policy clauses with AI grounded in your specific compliance context, and sync updates bidirectionally between Word and Salesforce to maintain a strict system of record. Maintain full version control while using Word’s advanced formatting and collaboration tools.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions where Policy M365 Management is enabled.

**Why:** Eliminate the duplicate effort of drafting policies in a document and then manually creating individual records in Salesforce. Create policy records directly from your document, removing the swivel-chair effect and the risk of copy-paste errors. Each drafted clause is automatically captured, versioned, and stored within your compliance framework without redundant data entry.

**How:** From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter and select **Microsoft 365 and Azure Integration**. Follow the steps in the guided setup to deploy the Salesforce Compliance Policy Version Connector for Microsoft Word.
