# Seamlessly Migrate Your Employees from Customer Community Plus to Unified Employee License

Replace fragmented licensing and streamline administration by migrating your employees to the Unified Employee License (UEL). This opt-in, identity-only migration preserves user IDs, usernames, and record ownership. Unifying your employee persona reduces identity inconsistencies across IT Service, HR Service, and Slack. After you migrate your employees to UEL, you can’t go back to Customer Community Plus (CCP).

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Unlimited edition with HR Service.

**Who:** This migration is available to existing customers currently using CCP or Platform licenses for their employees.

**Why:** Maintaining dual user models within an organization often creates broken reporting structures and workflow complications. This migration establishes a single, authoritative identity for each employee, making sure that individuals can request services, fulfill tasks, and collaborate within a single session across different clouds.

**How:** Before starting the migration, make sure that your org has sufficient UEL licenses. Set your external sharing model for accounts, contacts, and cases to private. Pause all your data sync operations. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter CCP to UEL Migration, and then select **CCP to UEL Migration**. Enable Unified Employee License Migration and then click **Start Migration**. After migration, manually update feature-level configurations, like sharing rules and approval flows.
