# Track Versions and Automate Logic for Action Plans and Templates

Maintain audit trails and historical reporting by using the Version Number field in action plan templates. Capture the template type to trigger downstream automation and apply processing logic across care programs. The action plan captures the values as a static snapshot, maintaining accuracy even if the template changes.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise and Unlimited editions of Health Cloud.

**Who:** This feature is available to users with the Action Plans permission set.
