# Support More Time Zones

Maintain global data accuracy with support for all Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) canonical time zones. Get more precise regional mappings and standardized naming conventions across the platform, helping your users stay synchronized regardless of their location. The new time zone information is available automatically in your time zone settings. Previous time zone information remains available through Apex and APIs for backward compatibility.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience, Salesforce Classic, and the Salesforce mobile app in Group, Essentials, Starter Suite, Pro Suite, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

**Why:** These time zones have updates.

- **Global Administrative Support:** You can now use Coordinated Universal Time (Etc/UTC), which provide stable, unchanging offsets from Greenwich Mean Time for technical and administrative use. The administrative zones range from GMT-12:00 (Etc/GMT+12) to GMT+14:00 (Etc/GMT-14).
- **Argentina:** The Catamarca, Cordoba, Jujuy, and Mendoza time zones are organized under the America/Argentina path.
- **Chile:** Chile Summer Time is now available for the Coyhaique region.
- **Faroe Islands:** The spelling of the time zone identifier appears correctly as Faroe. Previously, it was Faeroe.
- **Greenland:** The location name for West Greenland Time is now Nuuk. Previously, it was Godthab.
- **Mexico:** The time zone for Chihuahua is now available in Central Standard Time. Ciudad Juarez now includes specific mappings for Mountain Standard Time and Mountain Daylight Time, and Ojinaga transitioned to Central Time.
- **Myanmar:** The primary city identifier is Yangon. Previously, it was Rangoon.
- **Pacific Islands:** The location identifier for the Phoenix Islands is now Kanton, and the name has been changed to Pohnpei, formerly Ponape.
- **United States:** To reflect its regional administration, the identifier for Louisville, Kentucky is now America/Kentucky/Louisville.
