# Prioritize Your Top Leads with People Scoring in Foundations

Stop guessing which prospects are ready to become customers. People Scoring evaluates both how well leads and contacts fit your ideal customer profile and how actively they're engaging with your marketing. By assigning points for specific behaviors and demographic traits, you can build smarter segments and ensure you're sending the right message to the right person at the right time.

**Where:** This change applies to [supported editions for Salesforce Foundations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.base_editions.htm&language=en_US).

**How:** People scoring comes enabled with marketing features in Foundations. To configure your scoring rules, go to the Scoring Models setup page. After customizing and reviewing your rules, click **Publish**. Scores for your contacts and leads are calculated and updated according to the updating schedule you select.
