Empower mobile workers to create and update Salesforce records directly from the map to capture precise location data for work orders, objects such as assets, and custom objects. Offline maps stay current with automatic updates based on a user's upcoming 24-hour schedule. In addition, on Android, map downloads now continue in the background so that progress isn't lost if you switch apps or the network is interrupted.
Where: This feature is available in Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions and in the Field Service mobile app for Android and iOS .
How: In Setup, go to Field Map Settings, and then select Actions. On the Actions tab, select the actions available for work orders and other objects, and then assign the geometric shapes that mobile workers can draw to create or update records from the map.
