Maximize productivity and reduce travel time by defining how service appointments are grouped at a single location. You can now choose between grouping appointments within a close vicinity of up to one second of travel time or grouping only those with identical coordinates. Exact location matching ensures that mobile workers complete all service appointments at a specific location, such as a single building, before moving to appointments at a nearby building. This capability is specific for complex sites such as campuses or farms, where multiple appointments exist without traditional connecting roads. Previously, in such scenarios, the objective treated all nearby buildings as a "same site" due to zero travel time, potentially resulting in "zigzag" routing between adjacent structures on a campus or farm.
Where: This feature is available in Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions with the Field Service managed package installed.
How: In Setup, go to Field Service Settings and verify that Field Service Enhanced Scheduling and Optimization is enabled. Add the Same Site service objective to your scheduling policy from the Customize Scheduling Policies page in Guided Setup or the Scheduling Policy Objectives related list on a policy. Add the Use Exact Location field to your Same Site service objective page layout. To use exact latitude and longitude location matching, select Use Exact Location. If deselected (default), all locations with zero travel time are grouped together.
