# Govern Prompt Response Languages

Manage prompt response languages with automatic and manual controls in Prompt Builder. Restrict responses using allowed languages, or allow prompt instructions to define the language when needed. Maintain compliance and consistency across all generated content.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions with Einstein for Platform, or Einstein or Agentforce for Sales or Service add-on, or Agentforce Foundations.

**When:** This feature is available starting the week of May 5, 2026.

**Why:** Ensure that your organization maintains fluency and review capability for generated content.

- Automatically manage language settings using the Allowed Languages configuration. By default, the system determines the response language by checking the explicit runtime parameter (if supplied), the user's language, and the organization default, before defaulting to English.
- Specify the language via prompt instructions for advanced use cases using the optional unmanaged mode.
- Review language changes and assess their impact with the activation workflow before you deploy new versions.

**How:** In Prompt Builder, configure the response language behavior using the Language settings in the Response section of Template Details.
