# Prompt Builder

Simplify daily workflows by using prompt templates to bring generative AI into Salesforce experiences. Create, test, revise, customize, and manage prompt templates that use CRM data through merge fields referencing record fields, flows, related lists, and Apex. Prompt Builder provides tools to design effective prompts and securely connect your data with large language models (LLMs).

- **[Create Prompt Templates with AI Assist (Beta)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_template_ai_assist.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Build prompt templates faster using generative AI with AI Assist in Prompt Builder. Describe what you want your prompt to accomplish in natural language, and AI Assist creates a structured Jinja-based prompt template with recommended inputs and grounding data.
- **[Build Intelligent Prompt Templates with Conditional Logic (Beta)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_template_conditional_logic.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Build intelligent prompt templates with conditional logic using the new Block Editor experience. Authors can now add `if`, `else if`, and `else` statements directly within prompts to create branching logic based on input variables. Built on Jinja templating syntax, conditions support comparison operators and can reference merge fields from grounded data. The visual block-based interface makes it easy to structure complex conditional flows without writing raw syntax, enabling more sophisticated and context-aware generative AI interactions.
- **[Author Prompts Faster with the Block Editor (Beta)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_template_block_ui.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Work more efficiently with the new Block Editor for Prompt Builder. The Block Editor provides a visual, block-based authoring experience with keyboard shortcuts, copy/paste functionality, and intuitive navigation. Create and organize complex prompts faster using drag-to-select, multi-block selection, arrow key navigation, and quick keyboard commands for common actions like save, preview, and version control.
- **[Use Keyboard Shortcuts in Prompt Builder](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_template_keyboard_shortcuts.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Work faster in Prompt Builder with keyboard shortcuts for common actions. Save time by using quick key combinations instead of clicking buttons for save, preview, version, and activation operations.
- **[View Prompt Template Dependencies Across Your Org](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_template_references.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Identify where your prompt templates are used so you can understand the impact of your changes before you make them. When you attempt to delete a prompt template, a references modal displays a list of flows, agents, Apex invocable actions, and other integrations that currently use that template.
- **[Deploy and Version Control Prompt Templates with the Metadata API](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_template_mdapi_versions.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Prompt Builder templates are now fully supported in the Salesforce Metadata API (MDAPI), enabling deployment automation, version control, and CI/CD integration. Use Salesforce CLI, SFDX, or third-party deployment tools to retrieve, deploy, and track changes to prompt templates alongside your other metadata.
- **[Customize Managed Prompt Templates with Overrides](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_template_overrides.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Customize prompt templates delivered through managed packages by creating your own versions. When a template is configured as overridable, create and activate local versions of the template without modifying the original packaged template.
- **[Govern Prompt Response Languages](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_einstein_prompt_builder_open_response_language.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Manage prompt response languages with automatic and manual controls in Prompt Builder. Restrict responses using allowed languages, or allow prompt instructions to define the language when needed. Maintain compliance and consistency across all generated content.
