# Show Application Deadlines with Date and Time

Let applicants see the exact date and time when an application closes. Set an application close date and time on the application timeline record, and the portal displays the deadline in each applicant's local timezone. To enforce the deadline, create a validation rule that prevents submissions after the close date and time.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions where the Education Cloud license is enabled.

**Who:** Users with the Education Cloud Full Access permission set can set the application close date and time. Users with Education Cloud for Experience Cloud Access, Education Cloud Reviewer, and Education Cloud Limited Access can view the deadline.

**How:** On the application timeline record, enter the deadline date and time in the new Application Close Date Time field. The portal displays the deadline in the applicant's local timezone. When the field is empty, the portal displays the Application Close Date value without a time. To prevent late submissions, create a validation rule on the application object.

To include the close time in the Student Recruitment Agent's deadline responses, update your Data Cloud setup for the Application Timeline field. The agent returns the close time in UTC rather than the applicant's local timezone.
