# Aggregate Data Efficiently Across Related Records with Hierarchical Aggregation

Roll up values across multi-level parent-child hierarchies, such as from child accounts to a parent account, for definitions with CRM Analytics runtime. Aggregate data, such as total assets or revenue, from child records at any level of a hierarchy to the parent record.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions where Data Processing Engine is available.

**How:** In the Data Processing Engine builder, add a Hierarchy node to a definition. Turn on Hierarchical Aggregation, select hierarchy relationship fields, and specify the aggregation fields and functions, such as sum or count.
