# Troubleshoot Data Processing Engine Definitions with Debug Mode

Pinpoint and resolve issues in Data Processing Engine (DPE) definitions faster by debugging them directly in the DPE builder for CRM Analytics runtime. Instead of waiting for full writeback runs or creating temporary nodes, reduce troubleshooting time by inspecting filtered datasets and intermediate transformation stages before the final writeback.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions where Data Processing Engine is available.

**How:** In the Data Processing Engine builder, click **Run Definition** and select the debug options. Set data source filters and select up to 20 transformation nodes to inspect. After the run completes, go to Monitor Workflow Services to review the output record counts for each selected checkpoint node and download record results in CSV format to verify data transformations.
