# Keep Release Pipelines Moving by Marking Work Items as Never

When project plans change or a work item conflicts with another promotion, mark the unpromoted work item as Never. This action removes the work item from the active release path. Keep your projects and pipelines focused on work that can still move forward to reduce dependency issues. If the original task no longer fits the plan, create a work item.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in **Professional (API access required)**, **Enterprise**, **Performance**, **Unlimited**, and **Developer** editions. This change isn't supported in Government Cloud Plus.

**When:** This change is available on a rolling basis starting in June 2026.

**Who:** This change is available to users with the DevOps Center User permission.
