# Build a Semantic Model

Create, manage, and query semantic models using Tableau Semantics.

- **[Override Semantic Definitions in Composed Semantic Models](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_cdp_2026_summer_override_semantic_definitions_in_composed_semantic_models.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
When you create a composed semantic model, it inherits all definitions from the referenced model, including data objects, fields, relationships, and calculated fields. Now you can add more functionality to your composed model by overriding the referenced model semantic definitions. Any property that is overridden is disconnected from the referenced model. All other properties are connected and therefore continue to receive automatic updates from the referenced model.
