# Create Segments

Create segments in Data 360 to understand, filter, and then use unified data for marketing and other purposes.

- **[Extend Grouping, Ranking, and Limiting Rules to Engagement and Rapid Publish Segments](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_cdp_2026_summer_grl_engagement_rapid.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Create more targeted audiences by grouping, prioritizing, and filtering records in engagement-based and rapid publish segments. These capabilities were previously available only for profile-based segments.
- **[Configure a Lookback Window When Using Rapid Publish](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_cdp_2026_summer_rapid_publish_configurable_lookback.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Configure a lookback window for standard segments with rapid publish to get the same data range flexibility as standard publish. Customize this window, which was previously capped at seven days, to meet business needs up to your org's maximum period.
- **[Simplify Segment Filters with Reusable Attribute Shortcuts](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_cdp_2026_summer_segment_attribute_shortcuts.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Save frequently used segment filter attributes and their complex data model paths as shortcuts. You can select saved configurations from a dedicated library tab instead of navigating multiple data model objects and paths manually while building segments. Focus on filter values rather than underlying data structures and apply consistent filter criteria across segments.
