# Validate Orders with External Service Callouts During Checkout

Use the Place Order Validation extension to connect your checkout flow to external systems by making synchronous Apex callouts during streamlined checkout. Validate order details, such as inventory availability or customer credit status, against an ERP or other external system before completing a transaction.

**Where:** This change applies to B2B Commerce in Developer, Enterprise, and Unlimited editions.
