# Extract Custom Metadata from Web Content Connectors

Define custom metadata fields to extract from pages crawled by the Web Crawler and Sitemap connectors. Use jQuery selectors to target HTML elements and extract text content or attributes from each crawled page.

**Where:** This change applies to Data Cloud in Developer, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions.

**When:** This feature is generally available in July 2026.

**How:** When configuring a Web Crawler or Sitemap connector in Data Cloud Setup, go to the **Custom Metadata Extraction** section. Define one or more metadata fields by providing a name, one or more jQuery selectors, and an extraction type. Choose **Text content** to extract text inside HTML elements, or **Attribute** to extract HTML element attributes.
