# Preview and Validate Citations in Retriever Playground

Test retriever citations in the Data 360 retriever playground to ensure accurate retrieval augmented generation (RAG) responses. Configure standard and custom citations for retrievers, select test data, and verify that citation links for retrieved chunks come from expected sources. Debug misconfigured citation setup or broken links in the playground before deploying retrievers in AI systems.

**Where:** This change applies to Data 360 in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

**When:** This feature is available starting July 2026.

**Why:** Customize the retriever in the playground to make sure that the system retrieves responses from the correct sources. For example, if a customer asks for the ideal tire pressure for a 2022 Nissan Titan, a search index retriever can pull the answer from the vehicle's owner and service manuals. You can configure filters, select test data, and verify citation links to the source. Set filter conditions such as Model Equal To Titan and ModelYear Equal To 2022, configure test data from the manual, and ask a test question to verify that the citation links point to the expected source.

**How:** From the AI Models Retrievers tab, select **Test Retriever**. You can also test a retriever from a retriever's action menu.
