Build Predictive Models with the New Default Runtime

Use the new default runtime when building predictive models in Data 360. The new runtime supports new algorithms, such as clustering and forecasting, and is the foundation for long-term model building capabilities.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

When: This change is available starting in May 2026.

Why: The new runtime supports new models and algorithms, such as clustering and forecasting, and is the foundation for long-term model-building capabilities. Binary classification and regression models can use both the new and legacy runtimes, but all other models use the new runtime exclusively.

  • Orgs that use legacy-based multiclass classification models are affected by behavior changes.

  • Migrate a legacy model to the new runtime by cloning the model.

  • The legacy runtime is scheduled for retirement in a future release. All new models and new algorithms require the new runtime.

How: To use the earlier runtime temporarily, go to Data 360 Feature Manager and turn on Legacy Model Creation at the start of the legacy model-building process.

Go to the AI Models tab to build and use your model. Predictive model building in AI Models uses the new runtime, and no action is required.
