Populate record fields directly by uploading documents in various file formats. Upload a sample file, review and refine the field mappings, and add the Edit with SmartFill action to a record page. Your users upload files in SmartFill to fill forms instead of entering data manually.

Why: Getting extracted document data into a record previously required boilerplate Apex code and screen flows. Now, you can configure Document AI SmartFill enrichment for any object in minutes without writing code.
How: In Object Manager, select a supported standard or custom object and configure SmartFill. Upload a representative sample file, map the document fields to the corresponding object fields, and save the configuration. Then, in Lightning App Builder, add the Edit with SmartFill action to the object’s record page. Then, users can use Edit with SmartFill to extract data from uploaded files or Salesforce objects and map it to the object's fields.
