# Refine a Document AI Configuration with Drafts (Generally Available)

Refine your Document AI extraction schema across multiple work sessions by saving each iteration as a draft. You can continue to edit prompts and test the draft before publishing to production.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions with Salesforce Shield Platform Encryption.

**Why:** Document AI configurations often require iterative changes. With drafts, you can test prompts, compare LLM outputs, and adjust fields without affecting production until you're ready to publish.

**When:** This feature is generally available June 2026.
