# Process Record Updates at Scale with CSV Upload

Handle large-scale record updates by uploading a CSV file of unique identifiers directly to a batch job. Bypass traditional database query limits by using asynchronous processing to handle up to 50,000 records per upload without complex filter logic.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions where Batch Management is available.

**Why:** Replace the need for predefined database queries with a direct file-based approach for adhoc tasks. For example, if a vendor provides a spreadsheet of 20,000 assets that require a status update, upload that CSV directly to the batch job. The file upload restricts processing to specific records listed.

**How:** Select the **Use records from a file** option when creating a Batch Job. In your flow, pass the CSV's Content Document ID into the automatically exposed contentDocumentId attribute in the Batch Management invocable action to trigger the run.
