# Avoid Data Residency and Privacy Issues with Salesforce Connection

Before you connect your B2C Commerce instance to a Salesforce org, an advisory message appears if the regions don’t match, or if B2C Commerce can’t determine the region. Review the advisory message and verify that your cross-region configuration meets data residency and privacy requirements.

**Where:** This change applies to B2C Commerce

**How:** If the advisory message appears, review it and verify that your configuration meets data residency and privacy requirements. For assistance, contact Salesforce Customer Support. After connecting, the [Trust and Compliance Documenation](https://www.salesforce.com/company/legal/trust-and-compliance-documentation/) applicable to that Salesforce service will apply. See [Connect Your B2C Commerce Instance](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=cc.b2c_connected_comm_salesforce_connection.htm&type=5&language=en_US) to Salesforce.
