# Control Timeout Path Visibility for Asynchronous Actions

Asynchronous actions now show only the Completed path by default when added to flows in Auto-Layout mode, reducing canvas clutter. You can still optionally include the Timed Out path for asynchronous actions.

**Where:** This change applies to Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic. It’s available in Essentials, Pro Suite, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

**How:** Open the asynchronous action’s property panel. In the Set Timeout Length section, select **Include timeout path**. The timeout path appears on the canvas, where you can define custom behavior for when the action exceeds the timeout period.

Note The Include timeout path toggle is enabled only in Auto-Layout mode when an End element is the sole element in the Timed Out path.

For existing flows with asynchronous actions, deselect **Include timeout path** to hide unconfigured timeout paths and simplify your flow canvas.

If you don't include the timeout path, the flow throws an error when the action times out. To handle errors without a timeout path, connect a Fault path to the Action element.
