# Flow Actions

Notify users with toast messages. Open Salesforce records or external URLs from a flow. Create formulas in actions without using resources with formula mode. Control visibility of the timeout path. Transform data in actions without the Transform element using transform mode.

- **[Notify Users with the Show Toast Message Action](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_automate_flow_actions_show_toast_message.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Provide immediate feedback by showing non-intrusive status updates or error messages during flow screen transitions. This new declarative action shows a temporary toast message at the top of the viewport to keep your users informed without disrupting their current task. You can also include dynamic linking to Salesforce or an external page. You no longer need to create complex workarounds to communicate success or failure between screens.
- **[Simplify the User Workflow with the Open a Page Action](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_automate_flow_actions_open_a_page.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Launch Salesforce records or any external URL directly from your flow, including between screen transitions, by adding the Open a Page action. Open related information, such as a newly created opportunity, in a separate tab without requiring users to exit the flow.
- **[Use Formula Mode for Action Inputs Without Creating Resources](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_automate_flow_builder_use_formula_mode_for_action_inputs.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Skip creating formula resources for action element input parameters. When configuring action input parameters in the Action element property panel, you can now select Formula mode to create formulas. This change reduces clutter in your flows. View formula previews in the action element property panel and edit them at any time, making your configurations easier to read and maintain.
- **[Control Timeout Path Visibility for Asynchronous Actions](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_automate_flow_builder_control_timeout_path_visibility.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Asynchronous actions now show only the Completed path by default when added to flows in Auto-Layout mode, reducing canvas clutter. You can still optionally include the Timed Out path for asynchronous actions.
- **[Use Transform Mode for Action Inputs Without Adding Transform Elements](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_automate_flow_builder_use_transform_mode_for_action_inputs.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Define and edit your data transformations directly within the Action property panel, simplifying complex data-mapping tasks. When configuring an action element’s input parameters, select Transform mode to define data transformations without adding transform elements to your flow. Transform mode helps keep your flows cleaner by reducing the number of elements required for data manipulation.
- **[Set Field Values Directly for Apex-Defined Inputs](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_automate_flow_builder_use_complex_type_configurator_for_apex_inputs.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Directly set Apex-defined input parameter values in the action property panel, reducing resources and elements in your flows. Each field appears with its own input, eliminating separate variable creation and value assignment.
- **[Streamline Object Type Selection for Generic SObject Action Inputs](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_automate_flow_builder_inline_generic_action_inputs.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
The action property panel now provides better context during configuration for actions with generic sObject parameters. When the action panel opens, it shows all parameters, including non-object parameters such as Text or Boolean. Object-related input parameters such as record fields appear when you select the object type for each sObject parameter.
- **[Configure Optional Apex Action Inputs Without Include Toggle](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_automate_flow_builder_remove_include_toggle_for_apex_action_inputs.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Flow Builder now hides the Include toggle for optional Apex action input parameters, streamlining the configuration experience. A red asterisk still denotes the required input parameters. Input parameters with default values still have an Override toggle.
- **[Use Custom and Custom Collection Types in Invocable Action Output Parameters](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_automate_flow_actions_use_custom_collection_types_invocable_action_output_params.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
Simplify complex data structures in flows by using Custom and Custom Collection types for output parameters in invocable actions. Custom and Custom Collection types support sObject types, Apex-defined types, and other Custom type fields. Using Custom types instead of custom Apex actions reduces the number of Apex-based actions Flow Builder loads, which improves Flow Builder load performance.
- **[AI Agent Actions Now Use the Run Agent Element](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=release-notes.rn_automate_flow_actions_ai_agent_actions_use_create_agent_element.htm&release=262.0.0&type=5)**
To streamline working with Agentforce agents, AI Agent actions in Flow Builder now use the Run Agent element instead of the Action element. When you open existing flows that contain AI Agent actions, those actions automatically appear as Run Agent elements with your original agent configuration preserved.
