The Excel Agent (beta) can now process CSV files as tabular inputs and outputs, not just individual field values. Perform row-level calculations or add calculated columns across an entire dataset in a single automated task.
Where: This feature applies to an Agentforce Operations workspace that's external to Salesforce for an additional cost. To purchase an Agentforce Operations license, contact your Salesforce account executive.
How: To use tabular data with the Excel Agent, Agentforce Operations requires two separate tasks. Set up one task to collect CSV files and one task that uses the Excel Agent. You can't collect CSV files and use the Excel Agent in the same task.
In the CSV collection task, in the Request information section, add a document field for the CSV file you want to use with the Excel Agent.
In the task that uses the Excel Agent, for Description, identify the Share information input field, describe its column structure, and specify the row-level operations to perform. Also identify the Request information output fields and what to store in each. Operations can include flagging values that exceed a threshold or adding a calculated column.
The Excel Agent supports tabular data only when it generates a new Excel file, so don't upload an Excel file to Documents.
In the Share information section, add the CSV document field from the CSV collection task. Optionally, add single-value fields that the agent uses as parameters in its logic, such as a threshold value. In the Request information section, add a document field for the agent's output.
When a workflow based on the blueprint runs, the agent outputs CSV results to the document field in the Request information section. The agent also generates a calculation audit workbook (.xlsx) that shows how the task completed its calculations.
