Upload large volumes of product, asset, and vehicle data from CSV files by using predefined Data Processing Engine (DPE) templates. You can quickly populate your records by mapping CSV data to multiple objects simultaneously, reducing manual entry for large data sets. Create vehicle records in a more simplified way now rather than creating products, vehicle definitions, and assets separately as done before. Handle complex object relationships, such as connecting Vehicles to Assets or Products to Vehicle Definitions, and accelerate your initial setup and ensure data consistency across Automotive operations.
Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Enterprise and Developer editions where Automotive and Data Cloud are enabled.
Who: To use this feature, users need the Data Cloud Admin and Advanced CSV Data Import permission sets.
How: An admin must first enable Data Cloud and Data Processing Engine in Setup. Use the App Launcher to navigate to CSV Import and select the option to import data using DPE templates. Choose the template that matches your data set:
- Add Products and Vehicle Definitions: Use this to add and update Product2 and Vehicle Definition records.
- Add Assets and Vehicles: Use this to add Asset and Vehicle records by mapping fields such as Account ID, Vehicle Definition ID, and VIN.
Upload your CSV file and run the DPE to process the bulk import.
